2025 will be a year of trade disruptions as the world’s largest economies implement policies that reduce, redirect, or transform the nature of their commercial ties. Many of these disruptions will originate from the United States, which will announce, and in some cases implement, tariffs to pressure its trading partners into negotiations.

This will trigger other large economies, most notably China and the European Union, to retaliate against the U.S. and protectionist measures by other countries seeking to shield themselves from goods diverted from the U.S. market. These dynamics will likely shape the evolution of global trade during the second half of this decade.

Join our analysts as they provide insights into the economic impact and global implications of these evolving trade policies.
