The stress and uncertainty surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic presents daily challenges to the mental health and well-being of our families and our children. The anxiety around the daily news cycle and the stress of working and schooling from home has led some experts to believe that we are in a dual crisis of physical and mental health.

In the aftermath of disaster, there is often an uptick in the number of people with mental and behavioral disorders, and the same is likely to emerge in the wake this pandemic. In fact, according to a recent national survey, 45% of U.S. workers feel “burnt out” and overwhelmed.

One of the nation’s leading child and adolescent psychiatrists, Dr. Koplewicz is known as an innovator in the field, a strong advocate for child mental health, and a master clinician.

Dr. Koplewicz provided his perspectives on identifying the signs of mental stress and outlining steps companies and parents can take to mitigate anxiety, manage relationships, and better cope during the coronavirus crisis.
